Agriculture services taken to rural Piet Plessis to mark the end of Madiba month

Piet Plessis in the Dr Ruth Segomotsi Mompati District will on Wednesday, 31 July, be a hive of activities as the management, staff of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and more than hundred farm schools learners will be devoting their time to improving the lives of the people living in that area.

This the department will do to mark the end of Madiba month, and the day’s programme will entail the sod turning for a vegetable and chicken project, the establishment of a vegetable garden for the local youth project, planting at the Community Health Centre and handing over of garden tools and production inputs to the beneficiaries.

Learners who will join the department are from the four farm schools adopted by the department, namely, Moedswil Combined, Onkgopotse Tiro Combined, Madiba High and Piet Plessis’ Reitshokile Combined School.

Desbo Mohono, the North West MEC for Agriculture and Rural Development who will lead this team, says the activities which have so far been rolled out by the department as part of its contribution towards the call of taking action by helping the needy communities, will not end this month as the department has the responsibility to provide agricultural services to rural communities, for development and sustainable livelihoods.

Members of the media are invited to the department’s 67 minutes (and more) for Madiba activities which will be delivered as follows:
