Minister Maite Nkoana-Mashabane launches National Youth Policy 2020-2030, 5 Mar

The Minister in the Presidency for Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities, Maite Nkoana-Mashabane, together with Deputy Minister in the Presidency for Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities, Professor Hlengiwe Mkhize will launch the National Youth Policy 2020-30 (NYP2030).

The NYP 2030 will be launched under the theme: “A decade of accelerating positive youth development outcomes.

The launch of the National Youth Policy is the culmination of over a year’s work of consultations, and revisions of the policy which has received widespread attention from across society. This launch will serve as a first step for mass popularisation and distribution of the policy to all role-players including government and its partners in business, civil society and young people, to bring about better coordination, and deepen implementation of the policy. 

The National Youth Policy pronounces on policy proposals to ensure that youth development imperatives are promoted across government, private sector and civil society organisations. 

The Department is looking forward to the participation of youth representing a diverse number of interests and organisations. The event will also live stream to the Facebook and Twitter Pages of The Department of Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities (Facebook: @dwypdza; Twitter: @DWYPD_ZA).
