Flag in every school to build a common national identity

The Minister of Arts and Culture, Ms Lulu Xingwana invites media to a ceremony to hoist a National Flag and refurbishment (painting) at Lepono Primary School in Hammanskraal. Since the dawn of democracy, nation building and social cohesion has been on the national agenda. As President Jacob Zuma, said in his State of the Nation Address: “We must develop a common attachment to our country, our Constitution, and our National Symbols.

The President further stated that: In this spirit we will promote the National Anthem, the National Flag and other national symbols.” On the same day, young people will paint Soshanguve Police Station as part of the Department of Arts and Culture’s beautification of public spaces project. The ceremony will take place as follows:
