Deputy President Kgalema Motlanthe and Minister of Energy Dipuo Peters to address the Oil and Gas Indaba in Bloemfontein

The Oil and Gas Indaba, which begins on 9 to 11 August 2010, will coincide with Women’s Day which will be marked on Monday, 9 August and celebrated throughout the month.

The indaba will provide a platform for stakeholders in the oil and gas sector to deliberate on amongst others; the oil and gas upstream value chain, refining crude and product trading, development of the LP Gas business and opportunities, licensing in the sector as well as the black owned entrepreneurs' challenges in the sector.

It is also aimed at sharing information with aspirant businessmen and women who want to take advantage of the opportunities that are available in the liquid fuels industry. Its focus arises out of the imperatives outlined in the Liquid Fuel Charter, which are to provide an information sharing platform and identify potential and current opportunities that are available to black owned entrepreneurs as well as employment opportunities.

Minister Peters will open the indaba with a gala dinner to celebrate Women’s Day on 9 August, and the Deputy President will join her the following day for the keynote address of the indaba.

Media is invited to cover both events (gala dinner and the indaba).
