Deputy Minister Rejoice Mabudafhasi leads Africa Month festival of ideas & culture in Giyani, Limpopo, 30 May

The Deputy Minister of Arts and Culture, Ms Rejoice Mabudafhasi will give a keynote address at Africa Month Xitsonga Music Celebrations on Saturday, 30 May 2015 at Giyani Arts & Culture Multi-Purpose Centre in Giyani, Limpopo province.

The Africa Month Festival of Ideas & Cultural Exchange is celebrated under the theme, We Are Africa - Opening the doors of learning and culture to promote peace and friendship from Cape to Cairo and is a programme led by the Department of Arts and Culture.

As part of the celebrations, the department planned an exciting programme of activities across the country through various forms of arts such as music, literature, theatre, visual arts, film, fashion, cuisines, seminars, exhibitions, lectures and panel discussions.

The programme has drawn support from various government departments, civil society and private organisations that have embraced the Africa Month celebrations. The Africa Month Xitsonga Music Celebrations is hosted by Swilombe Music Association, a project that aims at developing and promoting cultural diversity in the arts and culture sector.

The month-long cultural program has provided a strategic platform and network for conversations about the African continent. Members of the media are invited.
