Mme Rejoice Mabudafhasi, the Deputy Minister of Water and Environmental Affairs, will be joined by about 400 women from around the country to seek ways to eradicate poverty affecting women while also contributing towards the green growth path by engaging on the economic opportunities available in growing the sector during the fourth Women and Environment Conference.
The conference will be held under the theme: "Towards a green growth path: Women at the forefront of poverty eradication".

It also aims to highlight some of the lessons learnt since the 2008 conference with regard to the implementation of projects that contribute towards poverty eradication; launch of the national forum for the women and environment that will define a clear programme of action that will be informed by the activities of the provincial structure and provide a platform for women to learn from their regional and global counterparts.
The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) inspired African Chapter of the Network of Women Ministers and Leaders of Environment which will be launched will be used as a case study for implementation of the women and environment programmes and activities at the regional level.
It is envisaged that ministers of environment from the African continent, representatives from United Nations Environment Programme as they are the participants at the Global Network of Women Ministers and Leaders for the Environment, as well as some local ministers will attend the conference.
