As a principal party in the provision of functions as set out in the National Road Traffic Act, the department will host a stakeholder workshop on turnaround strategy for registering authorities (driver's license testing centres (DLTCs), vehicle testing centres, motor-vehicle registration authorities).
The details of the workshops are as follows:

Venue: Turffontein racecourse, Johannesburg
Time: 08h30 for 09h00
The objectives of the workshop are:
- to demonstrate political commitment to address problems at these authorities
- to obtain buy-in for the turnaround strategy from stakeholders and
- to agree on way forward or action plan for implementation.
The workshop is in line with the MEC's commitment of combating corruption in all programmes of the department particularly DLTCs and operating licensing systems which he presented during the 2010/11 budget vote.
The MEC, head of department as well as senior management of the Departments of Community Safety and Finance will be in attendance.
