Minister Mapisa-Nqakula delivers keynote address at the Annual African Conference of Commandants

Minister of Defence and Military Veterans, Ms Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula will deliver a keynote address at the 11th African Conference of Commandants (ACoC). The aim of the ACoC is to enhance harmonisation, interoperability, commonality, standardisation and cooperation among African Staff Colleges.
 
The ACoC’ main objectives include:

  • contributing to African Security through quality education, which would provide the required knowledge and training to equip students with the necessary skills and development,
  • developing responsive curriculum to meet professional military standards,
  • translating knowledge into continental standards for training and development  of military officers, and
  • developing co-operation amongst African Staff Colleges through benchmarking; staff exchange programmes; academic accreditation and Combined Joint African Exercise (CJAX).

This year’s ACoC under the theme, “The relevance of African military/ security historical case studies and scenarios,” brings together defence industry players, key military representatives and individuals from countries across the world.
