Mineral Resources hosts Occupational Health and Safety Women in Mining (WiM) Conference, 5 to 6 Aug

In commemoration of Women’s Month 2015, the Department of Mineral Resources (DMR), in partnership with the Mine Health and Safety Council (MHSC), will host a two-day Women in Mining Conference on 5th and 6th August 2015. The theme of the conference is “Prioritising the Health, Safety and Security of Women in Mining”.

The Conference aims to address occupational challenges faced by women in the industry, including safety and security, and will consider effective ways to create a more conducive environment for women in the mining sector.

The Minister of Mineral Resources, Advocate Ngoako A. Ramatlhodi (MP), will address the conference on the 6th of August 2015 and will be joined at the Conference by stakeholders in the Mining industry, including representatives from organised business and organised labour.
