MEC Vadi to host ITMP25 stakeholders' consultative conference

Gauteng MEC for Roads and Transport Ismail Vadi will on Monday, 19 August 2013, host the 25-year Integrated Transport Master Plan (ITMP 25) stakeholders’ consultative conference at the Birchwood Conference Centre, Boksburg.

The aim of the consultative meeting is to launch the ITMP25 and to engage with key stakeholders on the plan.

ITMP25’s vision is to assist the government in delivering a world class, sustainable transport system that embodies the principles of efficient, competitive and responsive economic infrastructure network that prioritises public transport.

In May 2011, MEC Vadi appointed a panel of experts to formulate a transformative ITMP25 for Gauteng.

The Panel’s terms of reference was to develop an initial report in the form of a Five Year Gauteng Transport Implementation Plan (GTIP5).

The GTIP5’s objective is to identify urgent, short-term measures to be implemented by the department in order to begin the process of re-fashioning the transport system in the province.
