KwaZulu-Natal to debate rural development in a Watershed Summit

The Government of KwaZulu-Natal, led by Premier Dr Zweli Mkhize and traditional leadership in the Province, will engage and a bid to come up with an implementation strategy for rural development in the province. The aim of the Rural Development Summit is to improve the quality for rural people through increased and sustained economic activity, and infrastructure development.

The summit also hopes to promote a balanced approach to integrated, comprehensive development in rural areas, improve the competitiveness of the agriculture, mining and forestry sectors, and to promote diversification of rural economy, among others.
