The Department of Environmental Affairs, will on Sunday, 9 November 2014, in collaboration with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and the Climate and Development Knowledge Network (CDKN), host a media workshop on the IPCC Fifth Assessment Report (AR5) and South Africa’s climate change story.
The workshop aims to communicate the findings of the AR5 and the operations of the IPCC in preparing the Report. The Department of Environmental Affairs will present information on international negotiations and context on South Africa’s climate change developments.
The workshop precedes the Department’s Climate Change Response Dialogue, which will take place from 10 to 13 November 2014. The IPCC will host a series of sessions on the science of climate change reporting in parallel to the Climate Change Response Dialogue.
