Deputy Minister Pamela Tshwete delivers closing address at Gender Conference, 7 Nov

Deputy Minister Pamela Tshwete of the Department of Water and Sanitation will deliver the closing address at the inaugural Gender, Water and Sanitation Conference currently underway in East London, Eastern Cape. The conference started on Monday 3 November and will end tomorrow, Friday 7 November. 

The conference was hosted by the Water Research Commission of South Africa, in partnership with the Department of Water and Sanitation of South Africa, African Ministers’ Council on Water (AMCOW), Southern African Development Community (SADC) and the Women for Water Partnership. 

The outcomes of the conference, directed by AMCOW strategy on gender and water with its seven key themes, together with the Ministerial Declaration on ratification by the broad AMCOW membership, are meant to a real difference to the lives of poor women and men on the African continent.

The closing address will be part of the closing plenary.
