Public Service Commission commemorates 2014 International Anti-Corruption Day, 9 Dec

The Public Service Commission (PSC) in partnership with the Department of Communications (DoC), United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the University of South Africa (UNISA) cordially invite the members of the media to the commemoration of the 2014 International Anti-Corruption Day, under the theme: ‘Break the Corruption Chain’.

The International Anti-Corruption Day is celebrated annually and it is regarded as a valuable opportunity to promote the United Nations Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC), which was signed into force 10 years ago, and reflect on initiatives undertaken against corruption on a global, regional, and national level. All South Africans are encouraged to celebrate this day by blowing the whistle against corruption through the National Anti-Corruption Hotline (NACH): 0800 701 701 or sms 39772.

The event will be addressed by Honourable Jeffrey T Radebe, Minister in the Presidency and Chairperson of the Anti-Corruption Inter-Ministerial Committee; Adv. Richard Sizani, Acting Chairperson of the PSC; Prof Mandla S Makhanya, Vice-Chancellor and Principal of UNISA; as well as Mr Tim Steel, UNODC Senior Anti-Corruption Advisor.
