Beijing platform for action: provincial report launch (KwaZulu-Natal)

The Commission for Gender Equality (CGE) in collaboration with Sonke Gender Justice Network (SGJN) will be launching their respective reports on South Africa’s Compliance with the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action (BPFA), and deliberations on gender equality and the role of men, taken up at the recent United Nations (UN) Commission on the Status of Women session.

One of the powers and functions of these two institutions is to monitor South Africa’s compliance with international conventions, conventions, covenants and international charters, acceded to or ratified by the Republic of South Africa relating to their objectives and further prepare and submit reports to relevant forums or stakeholders.
