Members of the media are invited to the Arbor City award ceremony to be hosted by the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries in partnership with the Drakenstein Municipality on Tuesday, 7 September 2010.
Arbor City awards competition was introduced in 2002 to encourage municipalities to undertake greening initiatives with the aim of promoting environmental conservation and development, thereby securing a healthy living environment for all. The awards are an effort to give incentives and reward municipalities with added effort in greening the environment especially in the previously disadvantaged areas.
