Anglican Parish of St Martin to handover school to Eastern Cape Department of Education

The Most Reverend Dr Thabo Cecil Makgoba, will handover Mzamowethu School to the school governing body and the Eastern Cape Department of Education in a ceremony with the premier in Mzam'omhle Township near Gonubie on Monday, 1 June 2010 at 10h00.

This grade R pre-primary school has been built through collaboration between the local community and the Anglican Parish of St Martin's Gonubie, as well as support from overseas donors.

These include Matt Murray, who until recently was the goal keeper for Wolverhampton Wanderers in the United Kingdom. One of the classrooms will be named after him. The school now has over 240 pupils, who receive a hot meal every day.
