2011 International Olympic Committee (IOC) session

Durban will play host to the 123rd edition of the bi-annual International Olympic Committee (IOC) session, an event of the International Olympic Committee where the winning bids for upcoming editions of the Olympic Games are announced.

Sport and Recreation South Africa (SRSA) together with the South African Sport Confederation and Olympic Committee (SASCOC) and the city of Durban are playing central roles in the organising of the event, which attracts literally hundreds of world and state leaders. About 3 000 people are expected to attend the event.
