2010/11 Gauteng provincial budget

Gauteng MEC for Finance Mr Mandla Nkomfe will present the 2010/11 Gauteng provincial budget to the Legislature on Tuesday, 2 March 2010.

The budget will provide insight on how the key priorities of the Gauteng Provincial Government are going to be funded in the next financial year and over the Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF).

Media lock-up session

Members of the media will be given early access to all documents in a media lock-up session in order to facilitate a thorough coverage of the budget. The arrangements for the session are as follows:

Venue: Gauteng Legislature, cnr Harrison and Market streets (Auditorium, 1st floor)
Time: 07h30 to 10h00

Please note:

* The lock-up will include a press briefing by the MEC. This will take place from 09h15 to 09h45
* No journalists will be allowed to leave the lock-up session without supervision. Also, no communication of any nature either by telephone or email is allowed during the lock-up
* Cellphones are to be switched off when entering the lock-up and no journalist will be allowed to use any device that can send out any form of communication
* The lock-up ends at 10h00. Therefore all stories about the budget are embargoed until 10h00 when the Gauteng Finance MEC Mandla Nkomfe starts his address in the House.
