With 2010 banging at our doorsteps it only makes sense that all Tourism stakeholders converge on the host city for the North West province to have a robust dialogue at the 10th annual Tourism Lekgotla.
People from all spheres of the tourism industry being your government departments, municipalities, product owners and private sector have been invited to ensure that the conversations tackle all aspects of tourism.
The main objectives of the Lekgotla are:
- To create a conducive communication platform between the tourism industry role players and the government
- Create opportunity to improve co-operation, communication and creation of common goals towards tourism development in North West.
The theme '2010 Now is the Time' was coined due to the fact that the reality should have struck by now and this can only be the time for all discussions to be cantered around the FIFA 2010 World Cup.
MEC for Department of Economic Development and Tourism Mme Mmaphefo Matsemela will give the key note address where she will be reflecting on the milestones and charting the way forward for economic development and tourism. Other speakers include, but are not limited to representatives from the Local organising Committee, the grading council and Southern African Tourism Service Association (SATSA).
There will be a panel discussion focusing on tourism Safety, transportation and the critical importance of a successful 2010 in the South African context.
