South Africa is a world leader in the field of organ transplantation. However, while the number of patients waiting for transplants continues to increase the serious shortage of potential donors remains a great concern. There are approximately 4 300 South African adults and children awaiting a life-saving organ and cornea transplant.

So go on and save a life, register today as an organ donor.

The slogan SAVE SEVEN LIVES: One person can potentially save seven lives by donating one heart, one liver, one pancreas, two lungs and two kidneys.

If you want to find out more about organ donation, visit the frequently asked questions section on the website of the Organ Donation Foundation. If you do decide to become an organ donor, be sure to tell your family about it.
