MEC Peggy Nkonyeni hosts Agricultural Symposium in Gamalakhe, 24 Jan

Access to quality, nutritious food is fundamental to human existence hence secure access to food can produce wide ranging positive impacts including economic growth, job creation and poverty reduction.

It is against this background that the Office of the KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Human Settlements and Public Works Neliswa Peggy Nkonyeni has lined up a panel of agricultural experts to empower young people of Gamalakhe Township, outside Port Shepstone (Ray Nkonyeni Municipality) tomorrow Friday 24 January 2020.

Themed “Agriculture is the Backbone of Growth and Development” the Youth community meeting will see different experts doing presentations on issues ranging from Hydroponic Farming and Agro- processing, Agricultural Opportunities in Ugu District, Co-operative Training and Development, Developing a Co-operative Bank, Co-operative Support Development and National Skills Fund.
