In celebration of World Consumer Rights Day 2015, the National Consumer Commission is planning an awareness week dubbed World Consumer Rights Awareness Week to take place from 15 – 20 March 2015.
The National Consumer Commission has set aside 6 days towards a week long campaign designed to bring together stakeholders within the consumer space towards generating awareness in consumer protection.
The proposed campaign will be the first of its kind in South Africa. Previously, the National Consumer Commission has hosted Izimbizo, undertaken awareness campaigns and has also hosted numerous conferences but not to the magnitude as envisaged in this regard.
The Consumer Week is expected to become an annual occurrence that is marked in the South African calendar to elevate the status of consumer protection for the country.
