Transport Minister, Honourable Dipuo Peters will officially launch the department's first ever, National Transport Recognition of Service Excellence Awards on Friday, 31 October 2014 in Johannesburg.
To be celebrated under the theme Igniting Excellence in Transport, candidates will scoop themselves Awards in the following seven categories:
- Best female employee of the year
- Best male employee of the year
- Best Manager in Transport
- Best Employee of the year
- Best Innovation Partnership in service delivery
- Best Performing Institution
- Public nominee and putting the cherry on top will be the
- Minister's special award
The awards ceremony is the culmination of a rigorous nomination process which started in June, ending in August 2014.
The nominations were published in print media for members of the public to make nominations of employees in the transport sector and a shortlisting panel comprising representatives from across the sector deliberated on the list in September.
The Minister will be joined during the awards ceremony by senior national and provincial officials, key stakeholders in the transport sector, sponsors of the Awards and members of the media.
Fabulous prizes stand to be won by the nominated candidates including a sponsored two (2) weeks test drive of one of the Top of the Range vehicles in the market.
