Application of Certain Laws to Namibia Abolition Act, 1991 (No. 56 of 1991)

Act

  • to amend certain laws so as to abolish the application thereof in respect of Namibia; and
  • to provide for matters connected therewith.

BE IT ENACTED by the State President and the Parliament of the Republic of South Africa, as follows:-

Abolition of application of certain laws to Namibia

1. The laws mentioned in the Schedule are hereby amended to the extent set out in the third column of the Schedule.

Short title

2. This Act shall be called the Application of Certain Laws to Namibia Abolition Act, 1991.

1. The amendment of section 1 by the deletion of the definition of "Republic".

2. The repeal of section 6.

Act No. 75 of 1969

Arms and Ammunition Act, 1969

1. The amendment of section 1 by the deletion of the definitions of "Republic", "State" and "territory".

2. The amendment of section 33 by the substitution for subsection (4) of the following subsection:

"(4) Proclamation No. R.343 of 1960 shall be deemed to be a notice issued under subsection (2) for the Republic [including the territory].".

3. The repeal of section 47.
