The repealed Nursing Amendment Act 19 of 1997 intended:
- to amend the Nursing Act, 1978 [repealed in 2007], in relation to the definitions;
- in order to make provision for the establishment, constitution and objects of the South African Nursing Council; and
- the abolition of the South African Interim Nursing Council; and
- to make provision for matters connected therewith.
