The 2011 Local Government Budgets and Expenditure Review will be tabled in Parliament on 14 September 2011. The publication provides an in depth analysis of financial and fiscal matters in municipalities over the period 2006/07 to 2012/13.
The document evaluates the performance of local government, focuses on different development challenges facing rural and urban municipalities and highlights the importance of good governance and accountability in ensuring effective service delivery.
National Treasury invites you to a workshop, which will be held in Cape Town on the same day. National Treasury officials will engage with journalists around the performance of the municipalities and will also highlight important trends covered in each of the chapters.
This will be followed by a press conference with the Minister of Finance Pravin Gordhan.
