As part of Women's Month, KwaZulu-Natal's first lady Zama Ndebele will hand
over fifty wheelchairs to physically challenged elderly women from the various
districts of the province.
The theme for Women's Month 2007 is 'Emancipation, Empowerment, Equality and
Eradication of Poverty Now!' The theme acknowledges that while significant
progress has been achieved in the advancement and empowerment of women, we
still face a number of challenges when it comes to gender equality.
