MEC for Transport and Public Works, Marius Fransman and Cobus Dowry of
Agriculture visited Piketberg on behalf of the Provincial Cabinet of the
Western Cape on Sunday, 11 November 2007 to receive a briefing on the bus
accident that led to the deaths of 10 farm workers. They also visited the
injured in hospital.
The West Coast District Municipality has established an emergency fund for
people who want to contribute financially. The bank details are:

Both Ministers will contribute R10 000 each. The Premier's Office will
donate a further R20 000 and the Department of Social Development will
contribute R10 000, bringing the total contributions from the provincial
government to R50 000.
