Project site visit

The Department of Water Affairs and Forestry will embark on a site visit of
the Dehoop Dam Project, in the Limpopo province.
The visit will include a briefing on the environmental issues to date; site
engineers for the Dam will also outline activities in relation to the
construction and progress made thus far.
Construction of the Dam began in earnest on 19 of June 2007 and the process
is currently in full swing.

08h30: Meet at the entrance to the construction site about halfway between
Steelpoort and Roossenekal
08h40: Convoy proceeds through security gate to dam's site office
09h00: Induction course
09h30: Briefing by environmental compliance officer (ECO) on environmental
issues to date
09h40: Briefing by engineers for dam (20 minutes), road (10 minutes) and other
services (10 minutes)
10h30: Site visit, viewpoint and river diversion
11h30: Return to site office and depart for Steelpoort
12h15: Lunch
12h45 to 15h00: Public Service Commission (PSC) meeting
15h00: Return journey
