Durban: The Ministry and Department of Transport will host the 1st African
Union conference of Ministers responsible for road transport in Durban from 15
to 19 October 2007.
During the five-day conference, the ministers and transport experts from
across the continent will deliberate on critical road transport imperatives
including:
* the vision and policy of the African Union on infrastructure and road
transport
* the development of road transport infrastructure in Africa
* the harmonisation and facilitation of road transport in Africa
* road safety, environment protection and combating of infectious
diseases
* financing of the road transport sub-sector in Africa.
