2009 Design Indaba Expo

The Department of Trade and Industry (the dti) will once again participate
in the Design Indaba Expo, to take place at the Cape Town International
Convention Centre, from 27 February to 1 March 2009. Fifteen international
buyers and 30 local exhibitors will occupy the dti stand and lounge during the
Indaba Expo.
The dti has been involved in the Indaba Expo since its inception and
continues to make optimal use of this opportunity to showcase Small, Medium and
Micro Enterprises (SMMEs) in the creative industries sector to prospective
global investors and publicise the Departmentâs financial and non-financial
support initiatives of the local design community.
The dti remains committed to developing South African creative industries,
which is largely dominated by SMMEs, by exposing them to investment, networking
and benchmarking opportunities with leading international design talents,
through platforms like the Design Indaba.
