Association gala dinner

Eastern Cape MEC for Safety, Liaison, Roads and Transport, Thobile Mhlahlo,
will address the Port Elizabeth and District Taxi Association Gala Dinner to be
held at the Edward Hotel in Port Elizabeth on Thursday, 13 December 2007 at
18h00.
The association, which has 700 members, is one of the biggest associations
in the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan Municipality.
In this event, MEC Mhlahlo is expected to brief the audience about, among
other things:
* progress of the Taxi Recapitalisation Project, especially in the Eastern
Cape,
* transformation of the Public Transport System and the role of the taxi
industry, particularly in the Nelson Mandela Metro, in preparation for the 2010
Fifa World Cup and beyond.
