Mbeki to address South African envoys on foreign policy

President Thabo Mbeki and Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr Nkosazana Dlamini
Zuma will on Monday and Tuesday, 12 to 13 February 2007, address a weeklong
conference of South Africa's Ambassadors, High Commissioners and Consul
Generals at the Lord Charles Hotel in Somerset West, Western Cape.

The conference, which brings together 114 Ambassadors, High Commissioners
and Consul Generals including senior Head Office Managers, is expected to
elaborate upon South Africa's foreign policy priorities namely the
Consolidation of the African Agenda, South - South relations and global
political and economic governance.

The Conference will also have an opportunity to interact with the Economic
Cluster Ministers including Ministers Trevor Manuel and Mandisi Mpahlwa, and
representatives of the Reserve Bank on the state of the South African
economy.

In addition delegates will discuss preparations for the hosting of the 2010
FIFA World Cup in a session to be addressed by Danny Jordaan, Yvonne Johnston
of the International Marketing Council, Eddie Maloka, Head of the 2010 African
Legacy and Malcolm Simpson, a co-ordinator for the 2010 International
Treasury.

Deputy President Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka is, later in the week, expected to
address conference on Accelerated and Shared Growth Initiative for South Africa
(AsgiSA) and Joint Initiative for Priority Skills Acquisition (JIPSA)
priorities with a view to ensuring a faster and shared economic growth.

The conference will conclude its deliberations on Friday, 16 February
2007.
