The Minister of Finance Mr Trevor A Manuel, will host a media briefing in
Pretoria on Friday, 3 April 2009. This briefing follows the G20 London Summit
held today, 2 April 2009, under the banner stability, growth, jobs.
South Africa presented four points for the Summit's consideration in an
attempt to restore global growth and development. These are; stabilising global
finance, countering the global recession, deploying resources to support demand
and sustaining investment in developing countries and laying the foundation for
a sustainable recovery.
Minister Manuel will therefore explain and report on the advances made by
South Africa in the meeting.
Minister Manuel and the National Treasury Director-General Mr Lesetja
Kganyago were part of a delegation led by the South African President Mr
Kgalema Motlanthe.
