Governor, T Mboweni, takes over the of the Group of 20 (G-20)

South Africa, under the leadership of Finance Minister, Trevor A Manuel, MP,
and Reserve Bank Governor, Mr TT Mboweni, takes over the chair of the G-20 in
2007, from Australia. Ministers and Governors of the G-20 held their eighth
meeting in Melbourne, Australia, on 18 to 19 November, under the theme
'Building and Sustaining Prosperity.'
Minister Manuel will host a press conference tomorrow to outline key issues
that South Africa will promote as the next chair of the G-20.
