T Didiza to visit North West poverty alleviation and skills development

Public Works Minister, Thoko Didiza, to assess progress on
projects in North West as prelude to her MinMec scheduled for Kwa-Maritane Game
Lodge, near Sun City

Public Works Minister Thoko Didiza will asses progress on several poverty
alleviation and skills development projects in the Rustenburg area during her
visit to the North West on Thursday, 4 October 2007.

Didiza will be accompanied by her Deputy, Ntopile Kganyago, and Public Works
MECs from all nine provinces, Heads of Departments and Chief Executives
Officers of entities attached to the department.

The visit will be part of the delegation's two-day stay in the province in
attendance of the Public Works MinMEC, a meeting of the Minister, her deputy,
provincial MECs and other relevant stakeholders.

The meeting plays a crucial role in intergovernmental relations and
co-operative governance. Projects to be visited are:

* The 200 bed Moses Kotane Hospital in Ledig village near Sun City: The
facility is been built at the cost of R200 million (9h45 to 10h15).
* Pholo Modi Wa Sechaba: A home based care centre, early childhood development
and poverty alleviation project as Sandfontein (Welgeval) (11h00 to
11h30).
* Flamingo Telephone Wire Crafts: A women projects specialising in the
manufacturing of wire products such as bowls and glass holders at the Mogwase
Industrial Site (11h35 to 12h05).
* Public Works paving project at the Mogwase industrial site (12h20 to
13h00).
