Statistics South Africa to launch Community Survey 2007, 7 Feb

Community Survey schedule for 2007

Over 5 800 fieldworkers across the country are set to take to the field on
Wednesday, 7 February, to officially mark the beginning of Community Survey
2007. Approximately 300 000 households will be visited and close to a million
questionnaires administered over a three-week period. The survey aims to
collect demographic, geographic, social and economic data at municipal level.
The information collected will be used to asses the impact of socio-economic
policies and provide an indication as to how far the country has gone in its
strides to eradicate poverty and to measure service delivery levels.

The Statistician-General, Mr Pali Lehohla and senior departmental officials
cordially invite you to join them as they take to the field in various
locations in the country to mark the beginning of Community Survey 2007.

Details of the event are as follows:

1. Gauteng
Please note that the Statistician-General, Mr Pali Lehohla and other senior
departmental officials will be visiting selected households in Katlehong,
Kwesini Hostel, on the East Rand.
Venue: Katlehong Municipal Offices (Ekurhuleni Metro � next to the old Police
Station),Masakhane Street

2. KwaZulu-Natal
Venue: Statistics South Africa (Provincial Office), 4th Floor, 85 Field Street,
Durban

3. Western Cape
Venue: Peddlars on the Road Restaurant, Spaanfemacth Street, Constantia
Time: 08h30 for 09h00
