Algiers, Algeria: Sport and Recreation South Africa wishes to congratulate
Team South Africa for their achievement so far, at the 9th All Africa Games in
Algeria.
Despite missing some key athletes, Team South Africa has gone out to
represent South Africa with pride. While not all athletes were able to win
medals, it is the experience that they are gaining at the games, that will
matter the most at next year's Olympics and Paralympics.
The Team has really responded well to the Minister for Sport and Recreation,
Makhenkesi Stofile's call for them to 'seize the moment and become the best
Ambassadors on and off the field at the 9th All Africa Games.' Stofile spent a
week with the team in Algiers, before leaving for other business engagements in
Dubai.
On Saturday, 21 July 2007, Deputy Minister, Gert Oosthuizen, arrives in
Algiers to be part of Team South Africa's final moments at the All Africa
Games.
The Department wishes the Team well in its last days in Algiers and hopes
that they will come back even better athletes.
