The national Department of Social Development, in collaboration with the
Department of Home Affairs, South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) and
the City of Johannesburg will host a service delivery Imbizo in Diepsloot,
Johannesburg.
The main purpose of the Imbizo is to ensure access by indigent people of
government services such as identity documents, birth certificates and social
grants. More than 500 government officials will be at the venue to provide
services.
Deputy Minister of Social Development, Dr Jean Swanson-Jacobs and Deputy
Minister of Home Affairs Mr Malusi Gigaba will speak at the event.
