The KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Government will hold an Imbizo at the Zululand
District on the 17th of August 2006. This is the second Premier's Imbizo for
the 2006 financial year. The Premier, Honourable Sibusiso Ndebele, his entire
Cabinet and provincial government departments will participate in the Imbizo
programme.
The Izimbizo is a government initiative aimed at facilitating and enhancing
dialogue and interaction between government and the people. They provide an
opportunity for government to communicate its Programme of Action and the
progress being made. They promote public participation in government programmes
aimed at improving their lives.
The theme for this second Premier's Imbizo is "Taking Government to the
People". This expresses the emphasis government places on the need to work in
partnerships with the people who elected it, to ensure that we together sustain
and speed up progress to better the lives of all the peoples of our
province.
