KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) Premier Sibusiso Ndebele has deplored the outrageous and
despicable lie that has been stated by the leader of the official opposition Dr
Mtshali about the relationship of the KZN provincial government with the
Independent Newspapers Group in the KZN Legislature today.
"It is a pathetic attempt to get cheap publicity. Only on Tuesday, 27
February 2007 I met with all editors of Independent Newspapers in KZN for
normal discussions about how to deepen our relationship.
"We advertise in Independent Newspapers and this has never been an issue.
Anything contrary to this is a despicable lie. The editors also requested to
have similar meetings with all MECs for in-depth discussions," Ndebele
said.
