Halala! Class of 2007
The 2007 Grade 12 results are a highlight in the history of education in
this country, since the candidates who participated in this year's examination
were the last cohort doing the Report 550 (Old curriculum) which is phased out
at the end of this year.
This development confirms our collective commitment to transform our
education system for the enhancement of a better life for all our people. It
also strengthens our objective to open the Doors of Education for All.
In this regard, the Department together with its stakeholders will continue
to create an enabling teaching and leaning environment to achieve the above
goal.
It is in this context that we collectively continue to extend an open
invitation to important organs of our society to play a meaningful role in the
education of our children. This will also enable some of our schools to
graduate from the quagmire of underperformance.
It is our wish that the 2007 learners, who passed the examination today made
a mark from the school system, should find space in the institutions of higher
leaning and progress so that in turn they will come back to this beautiful
province to add impetus on all initiatives aimed at improving the lives of our
people.
The Department also wishes to take this opportunity to congratulate all
candidates who were successful in the 2007 examinations.
The current infrastructure and human recourses would not enable the
Department to accommodate the learners who could not make it in these
examinations. In this regard special classes will be established to ensure that
these learners are provided with a fair opportunity to prepare for the mid-year
examinations. We further request all role players to assist the Department in
this regard. Principals will help in disseminating this information.
