The Public Service Commission releases the state of the public
service report for 2006

The Public Service Commission (PSC) will be releasing the ‘State of the
Public Service Report, 2006’ at a media briefing to be held as follows:

Date: Thursday, 25 May 2006
Time: 10h00 – 11h30
Venue: Pretoria [Room 321, Commission House, c/o Hamilton & Ziervogel
Streets, Arcadia].

The media is invited to this briefing.

The State of the Public Service Report 2006 is the fifth edition in a series
of annual oversight reports that have thus far been produced by the PSC in an
effort to analyse the developments in and the overall status of the Public
Service each year. The Report is intended to provide strategic direction in the
Public Service by highlighting important themes and trends.

Premised on the nine Constitutional Principles for public administration,
the State of the Public Service Report 2006 evaluates the state of capacity in
the Public Service and makes recommendations on how this can be enhanced.

To enable the PSC to properly manage logistics such as parking and
refreshments, members of the media are requested to RSVP on or before 10h15, on
Wednesday, 24 May 2006.
