Parliament to get report on Cape Town water cut offs

Parliament's Portfolio Committee on Water Affairs and Forestry will tomorrow
get a report from the department and the City of Cape Town on how they plan to
deal with the water cut offs in some parts of the city.

Last week community leaders told the members of the committee about the
impact the water cut offs have had on the communities.

Also tomorrow, the Department of Public Works will unveil phase two of the
Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) to the Portfolio Committee on Public
Works. The EPWP is a nationwide programme covering all spheres of government
and state-owned enterprises that aims to draw significant numbers of unemployed
people into productive work, accompanied by training, so that they increase
their capacity to earn an income.
