Strategic Defence Procurement Packages investigation

Parliament: Acting National Director of Public Prosecutions Advocate
Mokotedi Mpshe, Armscor CEO Mr Sipho Thomo, and two other senior government
officials will tomorrow, Tuesday appear before Parliament's Standing Committee
on Public Accounts (Scopa) to give details on progress made by their
organisations in implementing resolutions of the Committee's Joint
Investigation Task Team on the Strategic Defence Procurement Packages.
The Directors-General of the departments of Trade and Industry and Public
Service and Administration will also be questioned by the Committee on the
resolutions tabled in the National Assembly in 2001 following a forensic
investigation into allegations of corruption relating to the Strategic Defence
Package procurement process.
