Pierre Uys, Minister for Local Government, Environmental Affairs and
Development Planning, invites all media to a briefing on numerous
infrastructure projects in progress in the Central Karoo.
Following this, a site visit to the Prince Albert Waste Water Treatment
Works will be conducted, allowing for photographic opportunities. Minister has
approved the registration of several projects amounting to R26,7 million in the
area as part of the municipal infrastructure grant investment.
The municipal infrastructure grant is a conditional grant that supports
municipalities with their capital budget and their Integrated Development Plans
(IDP) to fund infrastructure, primarily benefiting poor households.

Date: Friday, March 13 2009
Venue: Prince Albert Municipal Offices
Time: 10h00 to 10h30 followed by a site visit to the Waste Water Treatment
Works.
