Deputy President Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka together with Minerals and Energy
Minister Buyelwa Sonjica, Deputy Minister of Communications Radhakrishna
Padayachie, Director-General (DG) in the Presidency Reverend Frank Chikane and
other senior officials from national government visited KwaZulu-Natal today, 14
May 2007.
This visit by the Deputy President is part of a working visit that is being
undertaken to all nine provinces in the country in order to monitor and
evaluate service delivery. KwaZulu-Natal is the third province to be visited
thus far.
In a meeting that lasted almost six hours at the office of Premier in
Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal Premier Sibusiso Ndebele together with members
of the provincial government executive council presented a report to the Deputy
President on the state of service delivery in the province and discussions on
this subject followed thereafter.
