P Mashatile to launch Schools Treasure Hunt Campaign, 8 Nov

1,9 million learners to gain insight into Gauteng's top tourism
destinations

The Cradle of Humankind World Heritage Site and the Dinokeng Blue IQ project
will, on Thursday, 8 November 2007, officially launch a Schools Treasure Hunt
Campaign at a media briefing breakfast at the Sci-Bono Discovery Centre in
Newtown, Johannesburg.

Endorsed by the Gauteng Department of Education, the campaign will be
officially launched by the MEC for Finance and Economic Affairs, Paul Mashatile
on behalf of his department and the Department of Education. Invited guests
will include education district heads, learners, role players in the education
sector and stakeholders such as the Maropeng visitor centre in the Cradle of
Humankind World Heritage Site and the Cullinan Diamond Mine in Dinokeng.

All 1,9 million learners in Gauteng will receive packs of learning material
and an interactive competition where they will be exposed to some of the
educational and recreational opportunities available at each destination. Ten
schools that most visit Maropeng, the official visitor centre to the Cradle of
Humankind World Heritage site or the Cullinan Diamond Mine in Dinokeng using
the vouchers distributed via the competition leaflet, stand in line to win R20
000.

Members of the media are invited to attend.
