The Gauteng MEC for Finance and Economic Affairs, Paul Mashatile, will
launch the Gauteng Liquor Month Campaign aimed at, among other things,
addressing the negative effects of alcohol abuse at Moretele Park,
Mamelodi.
Mashatile will outline government and industry initiatives that have been
put in place to highlight the negative effects of alcohol abuse. The campaign
will also be used as a platform to educate the community about responsible
drinking, compliance with the prohibition on selling liquor to intoxicated
persons, minors and unregistered traders.
The launch will target liquor traders, youth, communities and cross boarder
areas between Gauteng, Mpumalanga and North West provinces.
Renowned kwaito artist Thebe will be performing, sharing the stage with
local artists Xanadu, the Khumo Khanya Group and Sammy Fever from Motsweding
